"That thing came in handy during an assasination attempt, for what reason, I do not know." Raye Hino Chapter 0 Raye's Battle Suit Raye Hino's tale of how she entered the Empire was quite odd, she had been on routine patroll of Mars' asteroid field, and her ship's Hyperdrive went haywire, causing her to enter Hyperspace. She had treid frantically to get the thing out of Hyperspace, only to confront a Dreadnought Destroyer near Dsadia. She surrendered to the giant ship, by fear of destruction, and had openly become a fighter pilot for the Miakan Empire. She was promoted to a commander, reluctantly, because she wouldn't be flying anymore, but her last mission was to recon Kraakatorass' Moon, to see what the Southern Quadrant Tactical Armoured Division was up to. "Of all places," Raye grumbled, flying low over the sand dunes. "Why couldn't it have been someplace exciting." "Raye Hino, state your position." "One- oh- Zero- oh," replied Raye. "No sign of activity." "Keep going." Raye mumbled, but kept going. "Slave work at 14," she said to herself. Suddenly, the sensors acted up. "Wow! This ship must be malfunctioning, nothing can emit that kind of...." She looked down to see the largest collection of giant robots she had ever seen. "This is Raye Hino, over," she said into the mic, but regretted it. If the Empire was to find out about this arsenal, the Earth, her brother, cousins would be killed. "Yes, what is it Raye Hino?," came the reply. "... I have to go to the bathroom, umm.. I'm landing on the moon." The commander groaned. "Very well, make it quick." Raye turned her ship around and landed near the robots. She stared up at them, their odd colors glinting in the sun. Near them were seven suits, and in the distance were some gold- colored parts and a suit near them. Raye walked up to the first battle suit, a purple one,and tried to get into it, but it didn't fit. "I wonder which one will fit me?" She looked up at the red Robotix, it's huge back tire dull and worn out. She walked up to the red suit, and climbed into it. The shoulder plates locked by themselves. "Wha-," she gasped, as the suit's sword and blaster holder appeared, mysteriously. She looked up at the red Robotix, and began to climb up it. "Raye Hino," came a voice. She looked down. There, stood an old man. Raye jumped down from her robot. "What?," she asked. The man looked at her. "You are Raye Hino," the man said. Raye wondered what kind of a crazy man this was. "Yes, I am Raye Hino," she replied. The man nodded. "Do not use this yet," the man said," wait for the others." "Others?," Raye asked. The man nodded, and in the blink of an eye, was gone. Raye panicked, wondering who was the 'others', and ran for dear life, her battle suit still on, to the recon shuttle. She was about to report what happened, but then thought against it because those at headquarters might not take kindly to it. "I am back," she said into the radio. "Good. Continue survailence, maintain tight radio transmissions at all times." "Why?," asked Raye. "Three Fighters are closing in on you." "Where?," she yelled. Ahead of her, she could make out the insignia on the nose of the fighters. Southern Quadrant Military. "Dear God!," she screamed, banking as the ship came under fire. Below her was an odd assortment of tanks and landing veichles firing at her. She stayed above their range of fire, only concerned with the fighters. "I need reinforcements," screamed Raye. "Negative. You're the only one who can take care of them. We launch now, and they'll send their Dragons after us!" Raye nodded, and opened fire on a fighter, just as the fighter behind her unleashed five missiles. "Damn!," she said, on reflexes diving down. The machine gun fire from the tanks was striking her fighter, not doing much damage. She leveled with the ground fifteen feet above it, and watched as the missiles slammed into the tanks. They exploded in fury. The above fighter dived at her, knocking out her missile launcher. "Ok, we'll have to do this the hard way," she said, targeting the fighter closing in on her from the front. She closed her eyes and squeezed the trigger. Blaster shots shot out from her fighter. She heard an explosion, and reopened her eyes. The fighter, on fire, both wings gone completely, streaked below her doing circles. "Yah!," she shouted, just as a blaster shot streaked by her. "Raye, see if you can bring the fighters close to Delta. Delta will open fire." Delta was the Grand Destroyer, the Dreadnought Destroyer that Raye was supposed to recon for. "Roger that," Raye replied, shooting up into the stratosphere. The fighters followed. Admiral Yamato stared out in space as Raye's fighter shot by. "Order the crews to fire at the fighters, but not to touch Raye's fighter!" The commander nodded. The massive Grand Destroyer's batteries opened fire, trying their best to pick off the fighters. But the fighters zig-zagged, avoiding fire. Yamato flinched as a bright white light appeared. "Kraak fleet approaching!" The whiteness went away. There, five hundred feet out was a Battle Dragon. "Oh, boy," said Yamato. "Ignore the fighters! Destroy the Battle Dragons! Launch all torpedos immediately." The Battle Dragons moved closer to the Grand Destroyer. "Dreadnought Destroyer, surrender your ship, or die," came the talk over the commn. Raye overheard the conversation, and decided it would be best to get into the hangar bay. "Sir," she said over the commn," engage the tractor, and reel me in!" "We'll be going to Hyperspace in three minutes." "So be it." Raye flinched at a blaster shot that came a little too close. The invisible beam honed in on Raye's fighter, and struck it. Raye cringed at the pain she felt, but was not seriously injured. The beam began to pull her into the bay. The two fighters roared away, joining up with their own leaders aboard their ships. "How much longer," asked Yamato. "Two minutes, sir." Yamato nodded, and waited. "So what are we going to do?," asked Raskey. "What ship is that?," asked a General. "The Grand Destroyer." Another General gasped. "Yamato's ship. Sir, what will we do?" "We'll destroy them!," yelled Jacen TJaden. "Order all of the ships to open fire now. The Southern Quadrant once again will prevail." "But sir...." "Don't question my orders, just do it!" Raskey nodded, and went to the Bridge. "Sir," said the commander," they're starting to attack. Raye Hino is in our hangar bay." "Good. Get us out of here!" "Yes, sir. Attention all hands," he said into the microphone," Fold Generators... activate!" The ship quivered as it became under attack. "Sir!," yelled Raskey," they're folding!" "They can't be doing that! They'll take three of our carriers with them!" "Folding Generators at ninety- three percent, sir," said the commander. "That's at maximum." "Fine. Take us to Hyperspace." The switch was thrown. "Get them out of there!," yelled Jacen. "Four of the carriers are going with it." Jacen's eyes narrowed. "I will get you, Yamato, if it's the last thing I ever do!" The ship began to fade into Hyperspace. The carriers tried frantically to get out of the way, but it was too late. The Dreadnought Destroyer, and the four smaller carriers, dissapeared. Chapter 1 Raye's Attempted Assasination Raye Hino had a funny feeling she was being watched. Although any attempt to kill her would be futile, she had numerous bodyguards and the like, she still kept her eyes and ears open. A commander of the new ship SupreDrive, Raye wore an oversized uniform over her body armour and hilted sword. Her left arm sleeve was ripped a litte, to expose the powerful gun her body armour had. Most of her friends and her cousin Janis Hino felt the armour wouldn't help much at all. Actually, the oppostie was true. The armour was the most powerful in it's class, and was very strong. However, whenever she kneeled wearing the suit, her little rear end, all pink and fleshey, stuck out, turning on quite a few people, men and female alike. "Miss Raye," said General Terla," I have been watching closely, and I have come to a conclusion: someone is following you. Your suspisions are correct. Now, what should we do about it?" Raye sighed. Her hair was greasy from three days of not showering and she smelled bad. "I'm taking a shower first, then we'll talk. I'll address council. I'm resigning." "Are you sure this is the best action? Besides, you won't get council until tomorrow." "Then so be it. I'll see them tomorrow." Terla smiled, and walked away, his semi-long hair flying. Raye watched him leave, opened her apartment door, and closed it, locking it tight. She then turned on the lights, and looked around, her gun armed and ready. She walked into the bathroom, and shut the door behind her. Turning on the music, and whistling to a Miakan dance song, she stripped down to bare, turned on the water, and got into the shower. She let the warm water clense her, and while still whistling, washed herself with the soap. She scrubbed herself clean, and then reached for the shampoo. Meanwhile, the door opened, almost as if the lock was broken. Someone walked into the room, hiding in the shadows, and hid behind the curtains. Raye heard the door shut, and heard someone enter the room. She quickly dried off. She put her armour back on, and put her commanding uniform on. She then turned off the light, and turned the gun on, and fully armed. She casually walked out of the bathroom, and pretended not to notice anything. She, out of the corner of her eye, saw something move slightly near the curtains. She crawled into the bed, and, her eyes slightly opened, waiting. The figure in the shadows approached, quietly. Raye counted to three backwards, and then shot up like a bolt, pulling the trigger on her arm blaster. The man gasped in surprise, and was hit in the arm by the blast. He raced out of the room, clutching the upper part of his arm. He staggered by the wall, now in the openly lit corridor. The door was blown apart by a supercharged blast from her gun. The man raced around the corridor and vanished. Three guards came running up to her, from the same direction that the man had came from. "What happened?," demanded the first guard. The second guard rushed into Raye's room to search. "That man," she said pointing, staggering from the quick adrenaline flow. "He has been following me.... tried to kill me tonight." The two guards looked at each other. "Are you sure it was him?" "I'm sure it was him. I attacked him with my gun." "It couldn't have been him, Mam'." "Why not?," asked Raye. "Anything's possible." "But..." "What is it?," Raye screamed. Both guards sighed. The second guard came out of the room. He looked at the other guards, curiously. The first guard closed his eyes. "That was General Terla." Raye went limp. She fell against the wall, her left arm resting her head. "He said he was on my side." General Terla opened the door to his closet, brought out his suitcase from above the shelf, and then shut the door. There stood Raye Hino. "Why you, of all people? I trusted you." Terla sighed. "I wanted command, and you took that from me." "You are higher ranking then me," said Raye. "You can have your own ship." "But the SupreDrive was handed to you after one routine mission. That will never happen to me." Terla sat down in a chair. "Look. Maybe I deserved that ship," Raye said, her voice growing hateful. "But you stabbed me in the back." She lowered her eyes. Terla shifted his weight in the chair, extending his hand down to where a gun was concealed in a pocket in the chair he was sitting in. "Look. I'm sorry. Tommorow you ca-" "I do not accept your apology. You tried to kill me. That is not an act I take lightly." "There is nothing you can do." Now or never, he thought. But this thing only has one shot. "Yes there is," said Raye, "I can 'blow the whistle' as you Miakans say." "No, you won't." Terla brought up the gun and fired at Raye. The bullet bounced right off of the armour right where her heart would be. Raye smiled. "Those type of guns only have one bullet." She shook her head. "Too bad." She brought up her gun and shot Terla in the stomach. The blast made a hole on the other side of the chair, and struck the wall before dissisapating. Terla stared down at the hole in his stomach. "You will regret that, Hino." "Save it for the devil, Terla," said Raye. Terla smiled. Blood stained his teeth as his lungs filled up with blood. "I will see you in hell." Terla coughed up blood, and then his muscles went limp. His eyes lost their glint in the lighting. Raye relaxed, and sat on the floor. And for the first time in her life without anyone reprimanding her, or punishing her, she wept, silently. "General Terla addmitted that his intentions were to take over my ship, only after I was killed. If not for my armour, I would not be here now." Several members in the audience clapped, but only briefly. "I see. So your ship was really the target, not you," said a member in council. "That is correct." Raye wore her amour, and no uniform to cover it. "From now on I shall wear this armour to protect me." "We give you permission to do that, Miss Hino," said another member of the council," but we do not believe that another attempt will be made to-" A shot rang out. A bullet bounced off of Raye's armour. Raye acted on reflexes, seeing the man in the front row with the blaster in his hand. She brought her gun straight up and aimed for the man's head. She looked into the man's eyes. She only saw guilt and fear, instead of determination and hatred. You tried to kill me, she thought, now it's my turn. And I will not miss. She fired on low beam straight between the man's eyes.
